Gerry O'Neill has been CEO of the IISP since April 2008, and is responsible for the operation and development of the Institute, and the delivery of the
professional programme for individual InfoSecurity professionals and their organisations. He has overseen the growth of the IISP's competence-based Full
Membership accreditation (M.Inst.ISP), as well as the transitioning of the UK Government ITPC Scheme under IISP operation. Working closely with the Board and
membership of the Institute, Gerry and the IISP Team also deliver a programme of member services, events, workshops and initiatives, through a range of industry-supported
Working Groups.
Gerry brings a wealth of experience in the field of Information Security, Risk Management, Audit and Governance, in both the public and private sectors, where he has
held senior security, risk and audit positions in a number of major consultancies, and in financial services and government, over a period of more than 20 years.
He is currently also the Senior European Representative for I-4 (the International Information Integrity Institute), a member-driven group of top global
organisations, which confidentially shares information on emerging threats and issues through a programme and schedule of face-to-face meetings and forums,
teleconferences and intelligence-sharing techniques.
